The Best Hot Dog in NJ? You can make that argument. It was a good experience once I finally arrived. The parking is a real pain , but that was to be expected. Heard so much about this place over the years, not sure it met such high expectations. The Italian Hot Dog was really hard to eat. More potatoes than Hot Dog so it was difficult to judge the hot dog itself. It was good, not sure I would go out of my way again, but you cant have that kind of success if you don't know what you are doing. Worth trying.

I only wish they wood show off there famous Hot Dogs and there famous Italian sausage and there Italian hot dogs there chili are to die for the only other place in New Jersey that could compare to Tommy's famous hot dogs is in Jersey City NJ on jenural square but Tommy's chili hot dogs are hands down the best so if you're interested in a quick and outstanding Chili Hod Dog in Jersey look no further then Tommy's in Elizabeth N. Their hot dogs are delicious!! I would've gave them 5 stars BUT they don't use gloves. That's not good. Especially when handling money too

I work in the area and every year I take the summer. Interns out for one last meal. That meal is Tommy's. Italian hot dogs. I pick up a couple of doubles and and couple of triples call some retirees up and head down to Warinanco Park. You can't beat the amount of food that's stuffed into the Italian half bread the peppers onions and potatoes plus the dogs make it an ultimate meal its not for the meek but for Italian hot dog lovers

A staple in Downtown Elizabeth and arguably the best hot dog, and best Italian hot dog in NJ and perhaps anywhere. Found on Elizabeth Ave. is this small walk-up shop with colorful signage. The options and prices are all easily laid out for you, and the staff is extremely helpful. The service is extremely quick and efficient, and often you'll be in hot dog heaven soon enough.Their hot dogs are Best's Dogs cooked to perfection, with a nice crisp. They also make homemade sausage everyday. My favorite thing to order here is either the double Italian hot dog, which is two hot dogs served on a fresh pizza dough bread roll, with peppers and onions, and outrageous fresh sliced potatoes.

I came from fort lee to try this famous hot dog and they not open It’s say open at 10:30 am and it’s 10:40 am and they not open

This is supposed to be the best Italian Hot Dog in the state. I'm sure that's true if you eat your order immediately but if you need to wait more than 5 minutes the potatoes in particular turn into a wet mess. I need to get back in warmer weather so I can eat my order immediately in the car.

Had heard great things about this place and took it upon myself to take a lengthy drive and experience it in person. This place is no joke and lived up to its hype and then some. I ordered the combo. The size alone is enough for my lunch and dinner and I haven’t had fresh pizza bread like Tommy’s since I was a kid. Job very well done fellas.
